With this fret removed I can now drill a hole straight thru the fret slot which will lead directly into the pocket. On nearly all instruments this is one fret up from where the neck meets the body, this is usually the 15th fret. With the fingerboard still hot I remove the fret which lies directly above the dovetail pocket. (Think Post-It® sticky) On vintage instruments with flakey finishes it can really come in handy. When the finish is fragile I use low tack, paper tape to protect it. Using a smooth, even polished spatula insures the finish around the fingerboard is not scratched.
With the glue soft from heating I use a smooth spatula to slide between the fingerboard and top. This required shielding the instrument's top from the heat to avoid blistering lacquer and other vulnerable finishes. This allows me to heat only this part of the fingerboard without heating the surrounding finish.īefore the days of handy sized heating blankets I used a traditional clothes iron. I personally use a specially designed heating "blanket" which is similar in size to the fingerboard's extension.

SAMICK GUITAR NECK PROFESSIONAL
The Duncan Designed™ pickups insure a wide range of professional tone and deliver all the inherent sting power offered in the Concord. The long top horn, which shifts the weight to the back of the guitar, combined with the lightweight headstock, make the Concord a really comfortable guitar on stage. The compact headstock prevents string energy from being absorbed and compromising performance. The set neck makes for strong neck to body contact, which also improves the string’s performance. This results in an exceptionally strong string attack and great sustain. The CONCORD™ has a combination of a fixed bridge and arch top body, which provide an incredibly rigid platform for the string. So when it says Samick on the headstock rest assured that the quality and craftsmanship stand up against any other import brand on the market but at a lower price. In fact some of the most well crafted and most sought after and desired instruments from these brands were in fact made by Samick.
The Samick guitar factory has made guitars for well known brands such as Squier, Epiphone, Washburn, Hohner, Silvertone and more.
